Both Sides Of His Mouth?
By Thomas JeffreyArticle Posted: Saturday November 17, 2007
Arizona John McCain is asking registered donors of his presidential campaign not to contribute money to any “soft money” groups who are attempting to lend support to his effort at winning the GOP nomination next year. The request comes as the Foundation for a Secure and Prosperous America, a non-profit 501© corporation, has begun to run ads in South Carolina favoring Mr. McCain and highlighting his war record. The group, which is headed by the Arizona senator’s former media strategist Rick Reed, has stated that it is not affiliated nor endorsed by the McCain campaign and intends to ignore the good senator’s wishes.
