Dropped

I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, convicted of perjury in the Valerie Plame CIA leak investigation and later had his prison sentence commuted by the Smirking POTUS, announced that he was no longer seeking to appeal his conviction. In a statement issued by Mr. Libby’s attorney, Theodore Wells, Jr. stated that while he still was convinced of his client’s innocence, the entire ordeal has taken its toll on vice president Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff and that his client no longer wished to pursue his appeal. In a related note, the Smirking POTUS released his list of holiday presidential pardons on Tuesday, and even the though the list contained the names of drug dealers, bank embezzlers and mail fraudsters, Mr. Libby’s name was not among the 29 names listed. Unless pardoned by President Bush, something that remains a distinct possibility, Mr. Libby will remain on probation until 2009.
