I Know Nothing...

General Michael Hayden began distancing himself from the growing CIA torture tape scandal this week when he appeared before a Senate committee and posited that both the creation and subsequent destruction of the two video tapes documenting the interrogation of al Qaeda prisoners happened not on his watch but rather that of both his predecessors—former directors George Tenet and Porter Goss, respectively. General Hayden testified behind closed doors before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday and made another trip to The Hill on Wednesday to meet with members of the House select committee on intelligence. In both meetings he promised to fully cooperate with the Congress in getting to the bottom of the matter. Sergeant Schultz was unavailable for comment.
