The Fix Is In

Tehran – In a move to help keep their country circling the economic and social drain, the religious powers that be in Iran have disqualified a full 70-percent of reform party candidates in that country from appearing on the parliamentary ballots this coming March.
The move by government loyalists, who are seated on Executive Councils at local levels throughout the country — and are changed with approving or disapproving candidates — seems to have all but eliminated any chance by the Islamic Participation Front and former President Mohammad Khatami from regaining a foothold in the government.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has all but turned a blind eye to the plethora of problems facing his country, including a heating oil shortage in a record cold winter, continues to enjoy the backing of the Iran’s conservative religious leaders, who must have their belief in Allah and Muhammad to keep them warm at night.
