Running Mate?
By Thomas JeffreyArticle Posted: Saturday April 12, 2008
For quite some time this past week, it appeared that the only political story that our myopic media could get their heads around was whether or not Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would be joining John McCain as his vice-presidential candidate on the GOP ticket this November. And even though Ms. Rice quickly dismissed the rumors as patently false, it didn’t stop the staff of Marist College — who apparently have too much time on their hands — from conducting a poll regarding this historic Republican match up.
The results of the WNBC/Marist survey put a hypothetical McCain-Rice ticket ahead of an equally unlikely Obama-Clinton ticket by a full 3 points — a result well within the poll’s margin of error and effectively making the effort a complete waste of time (which is exactly my point).
But this Leftwing Nutjob would like to go on record as saying that I think it would be fantastic for the eventual Democratic nominee’s prospects if Ms. Rice were to join Mr. McCain in running for president. Like manna from the sky, either Obama or Clinton would get to run against someone who wants to continue the polices of the Smirking POTUS for the foreseeable future as well as one of the architects of not only Iraq War debacle but also the same person who choose to ignore the warnings of Richard Clark and the threat that al Qaeda posed to this country prior to 9/11. Fantastic!
McCain/Rice in 2008. The only problem is, what’s Mitt Romney going to do for the next four years?
